Overview
The church of Archangel Michael on the western hills of the village belonged to a monastic settlement. The chapel is located in a beautiful location with a view of the mountainside in the east, on top of which dominates the chapel of Prophet Elias, the valley of Setrrachos in the north and in the south you can see as far as Pedoulas and Prodromos. One of the treasures of this chapel that adorn the iconostasis is a printed gospel of 1550 with a brass lining of the 11th - 12th century bearing the image of Archangel Michael. On November the 8th, the day we celebrate the Synaxis of the Archangels, the chapel is liturgized. Other chapels (ancient monuments, 11th and 12th century) that, like the one of Saints Andronicus and Athanasia, were small family churches of the settlements whose union created the village of Kalopanayotis are those of Saints Sergios and Bacchus, Agios Georgios and Agios Kyriakos.
